DU admission test from April 29, this time in four units
The admission test of Dhaka University for the academic year 2022-23 has been decided to start from April 29.
This year's admission test will be in four units, which has been under five units so far. Apart from this, the first year admission test for Bachelor (Honours) of Dhaka University will henceforth be called the admission test of undergraduate program.
These issues were finalized in the general admission committee meeting at the university's Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate building on Thursday morning. As per the decision taken by the Dhaka University authorities in the first part of last year, the names of the admission test units from the upcoming (2022-23) academic year are—Science Unit, Business Education Unit, Fine Arts Unit and Arts, Law and Social Science Unit.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor (Education) ASM Maksud Kamal told Prothom Alo this afternoon that according to the decision of the general admission committee meeting, the admission test will start on April 29 through the fine arts unit. After that, the admission test for arts, law and social science units, May 12 for science unit and May 13 for business education unit will be held. This date of admission test is final. In line with the international world, instead of the first year admission test of Bachelor (Honours), this test will henceforth be called the admission test of undergraduate program. However, the name of the degree (BBA, BSS, BA, BSc) will remain unchanged.
Maqsud Kamal said, "So long we used to say, graduation (honours) first year admission test. When many people who graduated from various colleges or came from the degree level were admitted to Dhaka University's master's program, then the term bachelor (honor) was used to distinguish those who obtained bachelor's degree from the university or to pay special attention to them. Now internationally this degree is called an undergraduate program. In line with the international world, Dhaka University will from now on call the first year admission test as the undergraduate program admission test.
